Among a slew of announcements made yesterday, Nokia launched its Nseries multimedia computers that reflect a happening confluence of connectivity and cutting-edge mobile technology.

Significantly, the flagship model of this new series, the Nokia N95, was announced.

The 2-way slide feature of the phone makes it easy to switch between different modes - say from reading maps to watching videos, etc.
The way this feature works is that a numeric keypad slides out from one end, while dedicated media keys slide out from the opposite end, thereby converting the display into a full screen landscape mode.

The N95 features a stunning user interface with powerful 3D graphics; and includes integrated GPS, and a Maps application that has maps from over 100 countries, covering over 15 million points of global interest.

Print quality photos and DVD quality video clips can be captured using the 5 mega pixels camera with Carl Zeiss optics. The TV out feature and support for Universal Plug and Play technology facilitates viewing the same on a compatible TV.

Designed for High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) networks, the N95 supports WLAN, EDGE and WCDMA networks. Typically,

In the N95, the Nokia Web Browser with Mini Map is endowed with additional features, such as a floating toolbar, password manager and auto complete, and web feeds with support for Atom and auto update.
